Rob Owen - Cycling for Charity 2011Thank you very much for sponsoring the WAY Fund Peddlers. All three members of the WAY team have successfully completed their epic cycling challenge for charity. They cycled through the New Forest in October 2011 as part of a 100 mile route, and raised a good amount for both of their chosen charities. WAY Fund Peddlers would like to thank everyone for their support and are looking forward to doing the rides again next year!

"It was a tough event but we had great support all day from our WAY friends and family and that was much appreciated. The New Forest is a fabulous place to hold the event and hats off to the organisers for keeping over 1000 riders fed and watered on possibly the hottest day of the year. Most importantly our chosen charities (see below) have benefitted from some very generous sponsorship for which we are very grateful."

Update:
(26th September 2011)

Trevor Chanter, Rob Owen, and Peter Atkins (as the WAY Fund Peddlers) will be travelling at some speed through the New Forest on October 2nd as part of their epic 100 mile route; which they hope will raise money for the two really good causes described below.

If you would like to go and cheer them on at some point over the day, they should be departing Brockenhurst College at: 8:15 a.m., passing the feed stations at:

1) 9:45 a.m. 2) 11:55 a.m. and 3) 2:35 p.m.,

- then finishing at 4:15 p.m. back at Brockenhurst College.

Original content:

Three intrepid members of the WAY team are embarking on a cycling challenge for charity. The WAY Fund Peddlers are made up of Fund manager, Trevor Chanter - who developed the idea for this ride in the first place - and two of our Regional Sales Managers: Rob Owen and Peter Atkins.

They will be travelling through the New Forest in October 2011 as part of their epic 100 mile route, which they hope will raise money for two charities:
(a) www.jdrf.org.uk : Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (for young people with Type 1 diabetes) and;
(b) www.neuroblastoma.org.uk : The Neuroblastoma Society (fighting childhood cancer).

For more information about either of these charities, please access their websites using the links above.

Peter Atkins - Cycling for Charity 2011The WAY Fund Peddlers intend to hold a 50 mile warm-up ride taking place on Sunday 12th June 2011 in Newbury, where they will also be joined by another of our Regional Sales Managers, John Humphreys.

Update: We're happy to report that the warm up 50 mile ride went well. Rob Owen and Peter Atkins, representing the WAY Fund Peddlers, rode 53 miles in a creditable 4 hours 15 minutes. Rob said later: " I've never ridden in wetter conditions so it was a true epic! It was a very well organized event." Their real challenge will be the 100 mile charity ride in October, mentioned above. We'll keep you posted as to how the Peddlers get on, so watch this space (and whilst you're here, why not make a small donation?).
