Cass Business School - Fund Preview

As a professional adviser you are most welcome to come and join selected IFAs and journalists to a preview of an innovative fund construction...

Academic Research from Cass Business School underpins new fund structures developed by WAY Fund Managers and Hasley Investment Management LLP.

This is an invitation to join selected IFAs and journalists to a preview of an innovative fund construction that offers exposure to equity markets in a risk controlled and inexpensive fashion, ideal as a core portfolio holding.

  • Venue: Cass Business School, 106 Bunhill Row, London EC1Y 8TZ
  • Time: 9.15am for 10.00am
  • Date: Friday, 21st January 2011

Background

This new fund concept draws on the academic research carried out by the team from Cass Business School (City University London) in order to launch a series of Trend-Following momentum funds, which initially will be based on combinations of Exchange Traded Funds ("ETFs") and cash, and be notable for their low management fees.

The funds are subject to FSA approval, but we hope to launch the first of them, "Global Momentum" in February 2011.

The portfolio will be based on an equal weighting to fifteen developed equity markets with exposure via Exchange Traded Funds ("ETFs") when the model indicates positive upward momentum and cash when momentum for a particular market is downwards. The approach is purely based on the formulae devised by the Cass team and has no judgemental overlay.

Professors Stephen Thomas and Andrew Clare are hosting a seminar on Friday 21st January, 2011 at the internationally renowned Cass Business School to present their academic research, which forms the basis of this new fund offering. We will also preview this innovative fund which should prove to be particularly useful for investors looking for risk discipline and control at the heart of their equity portfolio core.

It promises to be an enlightening experience, so please put the date in your diary and register now. The aim is for a 10.00am start and to be finished by 1130am.
